Warm Audio WA-87 R2 Nickel Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
This is great mic, especially given the price. I've used it on main vocals, BVs, a range of stringed acoustic instruments, percussion and brass, It captures a wide variety of sources well, gets a decent result with most voices, and the resultant recordings usually seem to need a lot less processing to get them to sit well. Very happy with the mic. Output level is a little on the low side compared with some of my other LDCs, but it's not a problem - still perfectly adequate and not so low that a preamp has to work overtime.
If I have one minor niggle it would be that although they do work fine, the pad/ HPF/pattern selector switches are are a little cheap and slack feeling which doesn't match up to the good build quality elsewhere on the mic. In a home studio environment this hasn't been a huge issue though, as there's only a couple of us setting up the mic and we take care with it. Probably wouldn't do for a rental company mic though!
