Avantone Pro MixCubes Passive Buttercream (per single unit)

The Avantone Pro MixCubes (Passive) - of which this is the singular, cream-coloured version - are based on the renowned Auratone 5C Sound Cubes. These have been used for many decades in professional studios, but sadly are no longer made. Happily, Avantone Pro have started building the MixCubes, which are based on the 5C Sound Cubes, and even provide an improved, more linear frequency response. The original dimensions, functionality and timbre have been retained.

MixCubes: experts in the mid range

Just like their predecessors, the MixCubes are excellently suited for checking how your carefully mixed tracks sound from smaller speakers (like you find on TVs, portable speakers, laptops and car Hi-Fi systems). The monitors excellently reproduce the middle area of the frequency spectrum and are a perfect addition to your ordinary 2 or 3-way monitors, the built-in crossover of which can negatively influence the sound. Ideally, you should connect these passive units to a high-quality studio amplifier.

• If you want to mount the Avantone MixCubes on stands or console bridges, keep them at ear height and close to the user. As the MixCubes are magnetically shielded, you can position them near to a CRT video screen or TV. With the microphone stand mounting point, you can also try creative positioning options in uncommon studio playback situations.
