Avantone Pro Reference Monitor (Cream)

General

The Avantone Active MixCubes set consists of two active reference studio monitors, which have a familiar shape - their design is inspired by the renowned 5C Sound Cubes by Auratone. These Auratone reference speakers can be found in many a studio, but are no longer produced. The Avantone Active MixCubes are worthy replacements, and for checking whether your mix holds its own when it's played back on smaller systems like TVs, radio clocks, computers, car stereos and iPod docking stations.

Full-Range Principle

In nearly any studio, you'll find 2-way and 3-way monitors for accurate referencing at high quality. However, you also need to know how your mix sounds when it's played on smaller systems. Small systems require a mix without tonal deviations, which might be caused by crossovers or inferior full-range drivers. Listening tests have shown that the MixCubes produce a flat, open and transparent high frequency range and response with an extensive bass, while they retain their original sonic character.

Connecting

These active versions of the MixCubes feature a built-in amplifier. Connect the monitors to your audio setup via an XLR/Jack combo input at the rear. To save space and minimise the influence of ambient noises from the power adapter, the MixCubes each have their own power supply.
