Studios are a place for exceptional equipment, and active studio monitors are no exception to that rule. In the old days, producers and musicians had to make do with a simple speaker with an amp, but in these modern times, speakers offer a lot of different options. Take the Mackie HR824 MK2, for instance. At the rear of this active speaker, you'll find various adjustable filters that either reduce or boost specific frequencies. There's also a button that allows you to select an acoustic space - a function that makes the active studio monitor sound equally great in every room.

The Mackie HR824 MK2's connectors can be found on the back of the cabinet as well - you have a choice of 6.3mm jack, XLR and RCA - but of course the most important characteristic of a monitor speaker is its sound. This Mackie model features an 8.75-inch woofer that produces outstanding bass tones up to 35 Hz. Two amplifiers make sure that the HR824 MK2 delivers the best sound possible.

Moniteurs puissants avec un son clair, une bonne stéréo et des basses bien présentes. Convient à tout type d'environnement grâce aux réglages intégrés. Parfait pour mixer en toute confiance. Réception rapide de ma commande malgré un problème d'expédition qui a été résolu parfaitement par le service clients BAX :-)

Ik heb de speakers pas een week in huis, dus hier is mijn eerste indruk. Zeer precieze weergave, zowel near-field als hoe ik ze heb opgesteld, vrij ver apart in de ruimte. Veel ruimtes hebben hun beperkingen en (zeer) lage tonen komen pas tot recht in een grotere ruimte. Gelukkig heb ik een behoorlijk studio boven mijn garage, goed geisoleerd en met een puntdak, zodat het geluid goed weg kan. Het is dan ook verbazend hoeveel laag deze speakers produceren. Er komt bij elke speaker een frequentieverloop sheet en beide zijn recht van 20 Hz tot 20 kHz binnen een dB of 5. Die 20 Hz kun je wel vergeten, maar alles boven de 30 Hz zit er wel degelijk in. De precieze van het aangeboden signaal doet denken aan hele dure B&W consumenten luidsprekers, zoals de 700 en 800 series. Dwz, dat een slechte opname onmiddellijk door de mand valt. Vooral songs, waarbij de stem ver naar voren is gemixed. Dat hoor je meteen. Ik zal over een paar maanden nog eens wat schrijven hier, ik heb nog veel tijd nodig om veel van mijn eigen opnamen (opnieuw) te beluisteren. Mijn vorige monitors zijn sinaasappelkistjes vergeleken bij deze knappe jongens, en dus zal ik dat merk ook niet noemen. Ondanks de korte inluister periode, kan ik deze speakers al vast van harte aanbevelen. Bovendien 2 stuks voor een hele redelijke prijs. Dus eerst 4 van de 5 sterren, later misschien meer.
