General

Tascam's VL-S3BT studio monitors are only 17 centimetres high, which may lead to you believe they don't have much potential. You'd be mistaken, though! Backed by 14 watts of amp power, their 3" woofers are capable of reproducing frequencies as low as 80 Hz. Their 0.5" tweeters, meanwhile, extend the frequency range up to an impressive 22 kHz. The set consists of two separate monitors - the left one active, the right one passive. The active speaker has all the necessary connectors, and provides the passive speaker with the power it needs.

Bluetooth

The Tascam VL-S3BT monitor set comes with a built-in Bluetooth module that allows you to wirelessly stream music from your smartphone or any other Bluetooth device. Activating the module is easy using the Bluetooth button on the left speaker's front panel. If your laptop or PC supports Bluetooth, it's possible to set up a neat, wireless link with the monitors. That way, you can keep your studio free of unnecessary cabling!

Technology

The VL-S3BT monitor set uses Bluetooth 4.0 and features class-2 components. Basically, this means you'll have a guaranteed 10-metre range without any signal loss and virtually no latency, as you don't have to deal with interfaces and cables that may cause a delay. You'll be able to fully focus on your mix!

The VL-S3 was only just released, but that doesn't stop Tascam from introducing a new incarnation, the VL-S3BT. In looks, this new monitor set hasn't changed much, but the familiar design does boast a few new features.
