From the moment you switch the Electro Harmonix Super Ego Synth Engine on, the pedal produces a synthesized sound based on what you've played, and sustains it. Op dit apparaat kwam ik uit toen ik een extreme sustainer zocht voor mijn gitaar. Oneindig sustainen doet de EHX Superego uitstekend, maar dit is slechts één van de mogelijke toepassingen. Je kunt er bijvoorbeeld ook polyfone synth-achtige pads mee maken, of een fluit-achtig geluid, zodat je eigenlijk niet meer hoort dat het geluid uit een gitaar komt. De resultaten zijn heel organisch met een 'analoge' vibe.

Iedere knop heeft een radikaal effect op het uiteindelijke geluid. Daarnaast opent de effects-loop ook nog een heel scala aan extra mogelijkheden. De grens is eigenlijk alleen maar je eigen creativiteit. Voor dat je het weet zit je uren met dit ding te spelen!
