If you're a guitarist who's curious about the iconic sounds a synth can produce but you don't really know your way around a keyboard, then Electro Harmonix have something special for you. The SYNTH9 is a synthesizer machine that transforms the sound of your guitar into that of a polyphonic synthesizer. That means you can also play chords without any problems. What's more, this effects pedal is easy to use. Simply turn up the volume on your guitar, choose one of the nine synth sounds and customise it using the four control knobs.

SYNTH9: synth-tastic

With the SYNTH9, you can conjure up synth sounds from the past (think of names like Van Halen, Kraftwerk, Joy Division and Peter Gabriel) as well as futuristic ones with just the pedal and your guitar. There's a built-in compressor/limiter to ensure a great sound at all times. The SYNTH9 works best when it's placed between your guitar and your amp rather than through the FX loop. If you plan on using an overdrive or distortion pedal at the same time, then it's best to place that after the synth pedal to prevent a muddy sound. From now on, you won't just be a guitar god but synth master too!

Ik gebruik deze alleen thuis....door ontbreken van preset opslag keuzes draai je je een ongeluk van synth naar synth. Geluiden zij natuurlijk echt passend in die hele 9 lijn van EHX. Gewoon geinig ding.

Ik zocht naar een synthesizer effectpedaal en kwam deze tegen. Naar aanleiding van de demo van EHX op You Tube werd ik echt enthousiast. De demo's van andere mensen vond ik niet zo geweldig. Dus ik had mijn twijfels. Ik heb de Synth9 nu een week in huis en het begint nog niet te vervelen. Vooral is het leuk om Kraftwerk te spelen. Het speelt wel heel anders dan een gitaar. Zorg ook dat je bijgeluiden, die op de gitaar wel graag wilt horen, dempt. Want dat klinkt niet echt mooi. Ik heb eerst geprobeerd om de demo van EHX na te spelen. Wat me opvalt is dat mijn Synth9 soms toch anders klinkt. Toch ben ik erg tevreden. De handleiding is erg duidelijk en de bediening is simpel. Je moet het wel even verkennen om alles er uit te halen.

Niet alleen voor gitaar maar ook voor analoge synths!
Heb deze van iemand geleend, en ga deze binnenkort voor mijn verjaardag bestellen!
Wat een mooi ding zeg!
Ik gebruik deze op een Waldorf Rocket die voor mij niet echt een breed scala heeft aan sounds, maar met deze combi is het nu wel heel anders geworden! Het is net alsof ik er negen synth modules bij heb!
Wat een koopje!
Ja alleen maar uitroeptekens!

Prachtig, wat een geluid!! Tijdens het spelen van sommige synth simulaties moet je netjes spelen ( vooral geen snaren laten doorklinken) maar dan krijg je een klank zoals je deze ook in de diverse demo video's hoort. Als gitaren heb ik de Fender Stratocaster en semi akoestische Richwood gebruikt, het synt geluid direct een mengpaneel in. Ik overweeg een volume pedaal achter het effect te plaatsen. de knop schakelt het geluid in of uit, in de toepassing is vaak een dosering gewenst.
