The Artiphon Orba is a unique and portable little device that has always been received well received generation after generation. The new Orba 3, which Artiphon refers to as a 'smart portable multi-instrument, looper, sampler and controller', is the latest addition to the line-up. Equipped with a built-in microphone, the Orba 3 does away with the need for an app to use the sampler function — a welcome upgrade. Other new perks include audio-out and MPE-MIDI via USB-C and Bluetooth. Other than that, the eight-way playing surface is still super-sensitive and can be tapped, pressed, tilted, shaken and more to create sounds, but you can also use gestures like wave, beckon or clap.
