The Prophet '08 PE synthesizer module is a tabletop analogue synthesizer module with all the same features as its sibling, the Prophet '08 PE Keyboard synthesizer. With its analogue oscillators, its famous Curtis low-pass filters and analogue VCAs, this synth comes closer than ever to giving you that vintage Prophet feel, while still adding some modern touches.
This PE model is exactly the same as the regular Prophet '08 module, but it uses potentiometers for an even more vintage feel.
The Prophet 08 PE synthesizer module has three envelopes and four LFOs per voice. Furthermore, it features a 16 x 4 step sequencer, arpeggiator, split or stacked key modes, separate stereo ouputs per layer, MIDI in, out and thru, and much, much more! It even has controls for programming sounds and controlling software synths in your DAW.
Finally, the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 synthesizer comes with a set of rack ears, so that you can mount it in a 19" rack. It's a must-have for every producer who works with hardware synths, as well as a great addition to the existing line-up of software synthesizers.

Welkom in de wereld van epische synth geluiden, dubbele arpeggiator en uitgebreide sequencer en meer.
De Prophet 08 is gebouwd door Dave Smith en is een Polyphone synth. Je hebt 8 voices, dus dat betekent dat je 8 tonen tegelijk kan spelen. Met een Moog is dit er vaak maar één. Dit betreft de module versie die je met je midi Keyboard kan aansturen. Je hebt ook een versie met keys, maar de module versie scheelt flink wat geld. Doordat de module enorm veel mogelijkheden heeft en veel knoppen heeft ben je in het begin misschien wat overdonderd door de vele opties. Laat dit je echter niet afschrikken.
Ik was naar de winkel in Bax gegaan om de Moog Sub37 uit te testen. Er stonden ook meerdere Dave Smith Prophets synths. Voor 'de gein' die ook even geprobeerd en toen was ik meteen verkocht. Met deze polysynth heb je veel meer mogelijkheden dan de wellicht eenzijdige maar geweldige Moog sound. Dus heb ik voor deze Prophet 08 gekozen en daarbij een Minitaur aangeschaft voor de Moog sounds.
Dit complete analoge monster (klein van stuk, maar groots qua geluid en opties) heeft veel knoppen voor real time editing.
De tijd vliegt voorbij wanneer je er mee aan het spelen bent. Doe een arp op 'hold' mode en het tweaken aan de knoppen kan beginnen. Het geluid dat je hoort is directe studio kwaliteit. Iets wat ik met soft synths nog nooit gehad heb.

Ga eens langs de winkel in Goes en laat je overdonderen. Ze hebben genoeg Prophets en andere synths om te vergelijken, maar probeer zeker ook de Prophet 08.
