Sequential PRO 3 SE Synthesizer
Dit is de perfecte aanvulling voor mijn studio-setup. Het mooie aan dit instrument is het gemak waarmee je zo goed als direct aan de slag kan. Zeer intuÏtief instrument.
De presets zijn bijzonder goed. via de sequencer kan je het geluid even 'in context'horen.

Mijn verhaal met de Pro 3:
Had in het begin niet echt zo een hoge verwachtingen vanwege de wat matig en steriel klinkende Youtube filmpjes die beschikbaar waren.
Na een bezoek in Bax Goes en er eens op gespeeld te hebben. Was het eerst opvallend interessante, wat een filter sounds! (en dan nog wel 3 soorten!) Denk dat ik de eerste 10 minuten enkel wat heen en weer aan het sweepen was met de filters.
Het idee om de Pro 3 in huis te halen was geboren!

Vanaf ik de Pro 3 thuis bezorgd kreeg, ontdekte ik dat het niet alleen een heel handige interface (quasi volledig knob per function) maar ook heel veel mogelijkheden had! Ik denk samen met de MatrixBrute de meest gesofisticeerde mono synthesizers die je kan krijgen op dit moment. (en net als de SE een kantelbaar paneel en mooie houten afwerking!)
Qua sound is het moeilijk in een richting te plaatsen. Je kan er alle sounds mee maken die je maar wil.
De enige beperking is dat het nog steeds een mono synthesizer is!
Wat ik nog steeds mis op de One is de FX te kunnen moduleren met LFO's en andere parameters. Dit kan je allemaal met de PRO 3! Heerlijk wat een wilde textures je kan maken door wat mod links te maken met FX parameters.
Dit is dan ook het heerlijke aan de Pro 3, je hebt al best goede FX beschikbaar op de synthesizer zelf! De Super Plate reverb klinkt bijvoorbeeld best mooi.
Je moet wel wat oppassen met gain staging (om ongewenste distortion te mijden als je in FX gaat. Tenzij je dat wilt, want je kan wel veel distortion en heftige klanken er uit krijgen, je hebt filter overdrive, distortion en tuned feedback.
Naast dit heeft de Pro 3 ook een tot 64 stappen sequencer (met crochets en recordable parameters!)
Recent heeft Sequential nog een nice update gedaan met de Pro 3, hierbij komt er patch morphing bij. Waarbij je van patch A naar B kan morphen met aan 1 knop te draaien. Om hier weer nog meer mogelijkheden te bieden!
Het klavier is voor mij 1 van de beste synthesizer klavieren die ik tot nu gespeeld heb. Samen met de One.
Minpuntje, als ik de velocity, de filter of amp envelope laat beïnvloeden kan ik soms een klikje krijgen in het geluid. Dit is te omzeilen door manier van spelen of velocity niet de filter of amplitude te laten beïnvloeden. Er zijn nog wel paar kleine dingen. Maar door de complexiteit en veelzijdigheid die je met dit instrument geboden krijgt komen er altijd wel wat "bugs" naar boven.
Elke synthesizer heeft zo wel zijn "streken". Rapporteren aan de firma en er om heen zeilen!
Conclusie:
Als je een mono synthesizer in huis wilt halen waar je de rest van je leven ontdekkingen op wilt maken. Dan ben je bij de Pro 3 op het juiste adres.
Advies: Als het mogelijk is,
(regeringen maken het de winkels momenteel niet gemakkelijk met hun onzin)
maar ga eens spelen in de winkels. Er is altijd een instrument dat het goud in je naar boven haalt.
