A kick drum can cause quite a lot of vibration and resonances, and you obviously don't want these in your live sound or on your recordings. The Primacoustic Kickstand provides good isolation and helps reduce resonances. The thick foam disconnects the microphone from the ground, allowing it to pick up only the sound of the kick drum. Vibrations that pass through the (often wooden) stage floors, such as from a bass and guitar amp, no longer come close to the microphone. Result: much better sound! The solid metal base is heavy and offers a stand that won't move from its spot.
