Pioneer CDJ 900 Nexus: Worthy of its Nexus Name
With their versatile top-segment gear, Pioneer opens up a world of possibilities. The distinctive Nexus tag guarantees comprehensive functionality and optimal connectivity. Take the wireless PRO DJ LINK function, for instance, which also supports beat sync. Vulnerable network cables are replaced by interference-proof wireless communication. The included Rekordbox software and the Rekordbox app for smartphone and tablet (which is available for download free of charge) allow you to make playlists, set hot cues and analyse tracks for BPM, key and tags. As such, you're able to prepare your entire DJ set on your laptop, smartphone or tablet, and send it to your CDJ 900 NXS wirelessly or via USB.
CDJ 900 Nexus: Colour LCD Display
The most eye-catching distinction between the CDJ-900 and the CDJ-900 Nexus is the latter's full-colour LCD display. Thanks to this large display, browsing your music library or CDs has become much easier. Use either the lists or the virtual CD or record artwork to quickly find specific albums. It's even possible to add an additional searching method, making it even easier to find the tracks you're looking for. Simply use the large rotary knob to make your selection. The colour display also shows the full waveform of a track, providing you with a visual representations of all its peaks and drops. With the Wave Zoom option you can zoom in to create ultra-precise loops and hot cues. Beatgrid adjustments are also easily made in this way.
Enhanced Features
On the left of the CDJ-900 NXS's control panel, you'll find a number of Beat Divide buttons, which enable you to divide a beat into sections and to loop these. Combine this function with the player's Slip mode, and once you turn the loop off, you're always taken straight back to the correct point in the track. If you're using the player's large, touch-sensitive jog wheels to scratch, the Slip mode performs a similar task. It keeps tracks running 'silently' during loops, scratching or reverse, so when you turn these functions off, you return to the exact place where the track would be if you'd left it playing.
