General

Most people will know Vic Firth the brand, but the man behind the brand is not as well-known. Vic Firth was a professional timpani player for years, and played with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, for instance. He used all his experience in designing the T4 timpani mallets. They're made of a solid piece of maple, so you won't have any parts that come loose or start rattling. Its special shape and the hard felt head allow for optimal clarity in the projection of your rhythmic patters. Furthermore, the mallet head is completely seamless to minimise tonal variation and wear.
