General
Many percussion instruments are made of steel, such as steel drums, snare drums, caixas and some surdos, to name a few. Still, Latin Percussion has managed to create some new and unique steel instruments for their RAW series, such as this Street Can. Compared to a standard floor tom or a surdo, the Street Can sounds deeper and louder. Thanks to a 1mm-thick steel shell, they offer excellent resonance and a huge volume range, also due to the lack of a resonant head.
Latin Percussion LP1616 RAW Street Can 16 x 16 inch
This Street Can is part of Latin Percussion's RAW series, which also includes such innovative metal instruments as the Jangle Bell, the Potz and the Trash Snare. At first glance, the Street Can looks like a regular floor tom, but it is so much more! It sounds thunderous, boasting volume, power, depth, and resonance that a floor simply can't produce. Want something new? Try a Street Can!
