If you want to expand on your existing drum kit, then this Pearl DMP814P/C260 Decade Maple Add-on Pack might be just the thing you're looking for. It adds an 8x7-inch tom and a 14x14-inch floor tom to your kit in one go. It includes a tom arm and a multi-clamp to suspend the tom to any stand. The shells are made of 6-ply maple and are 5.4 mm thick. This pack has a matte Satin Brown Burst finish and chrome-plated shell hardware.
Optimal resonance
To get the very best sound out of the maple used for the shells, Pearl took various measures to optimise resonance. One of those measures was the OptiLoc Suspension System, which involves the toms being mounted at two tuning points as well as the air vent. This offers stability at three points and minimal contact with the shell for optimal resonance. Pearl has also kept the lugs small and lightweight to minimise their impact on the sound of the shells as well.
