General

Thanks to the patented In-Body Tuning System, the Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light Electric is one of the most compact, full-scale travel guitars currently available. The special build includes accurate, 14:1 machine heads integrated in the body to keep total length of the electric guitar down to only 71 cm but, since the scale-length measures 24.75 inches, it still feels like a regular model. For full playing comfort and seated playing, a detachable lap rest comes included, next to a practical gig bag.

The Ultra-Light Electric: Solid Sound

Traveler Guitar have outfitted the Ultra-Light Electric with a dual-rail pickup, which is essentially a humbucker inside a single-coil housing for a warm, solid and forceful sound. The maple neck is attached to the body via a neck-through construction to provide easy access to all 22 medium frets on the walnut fretboard, while the Tune-O-Matic bridge assures you of accurate intonation, great tuning stability and a trusty feel.

Superhandig om mee te nemen. Veel kleiner dan je verwacht, best lachen als je de verpakking opent. En dan de verrassing als je er op gaat spelen. Ik gebruik hem icm de Blackstar fly3. Kunt het makkelijk meenemen op vakantie om een beetje te pielen. De hals is erg goed, speelt super. Gewoon ongelofelijk hoe compact en goed het speelt. Gebruik zelf liever een gitaarband dan de steun. In het vak van de gigbag passen nog wat accessoires en zo kun je alles met gemak bij je kleren in de koffer stoppen. Vanaf nu gaat mijn gitaartje overal mee naar toe.

Leuke gitaar om mee te nemen of onderuitgezakt in een luie stoel te gebruiken. De hals is perfect, de nut exact goed en goed afgewerkte frets. De tuners zijn wat minder, ik heb ze vrij snel vervangen door de locking tuners van traveller zelf. Let er op dat de meeste gewone locking tuners niet gaan passen vanwege een lockating pin, vooral als ze ook nog backlocking zijn inplaats van lockhead.
De pickup is een goede kwaliteit high output ceramische hotrail. Op zich een prima pickup voor shredders, maar minder voor een ouwe blueslul zoals ik. Die ga ik nog vervangen door een andere strat single coil sized humbucker. Een gewone single coil gaat waarschijnlijk issues geven door gebrek aan shielding. Al met al een uitstekende gitaar, oneindig veel beter dan de hofner shorty.

Ben veel voor mijn werk doordeweeks weg, dit is een prima oplossing om te oefenen. Alles is goed afgewerkt geen scherpe frets. Hals is een droom echt tussen een stevige LP hals.

Element is niet erg goed ik heb deze inmiddels vervangen voor een singlecoil humbucker van DiMarzio.

Opnieuw besnaren is een hele opgave maar met locking tuners is het makkelijker.
