General

It is late in the evening and the rest of the house is asleep, or you are playing along with a band that likes it loud: in both cases a regular acoustic ukulele soon runs out of road. The Cascha CUCE100 takes a different approach. Its solid body is 3 cm thick and built in the style of an electric guitar, which gives the instrument a distinctive look and a precise, balanced sound. The top is made of vividly grained maple, the neck is okoumé, and the fretboard and bridge are made of techwood, so the playing feel stays direct and controlled. With a concert scale length of 380 mm and a nut width of 35 mm, everything stays compact in the hand.

Quiet practice or a night on stage

The fluorocarbon strings sound clear and brilliant, and a piezo pickup sits underneath them. Through the jack output you can run the ukulele into an amplifier, a mixing desk or an interface. Plug in a pair of headphones instead and you can play without disturbing anyone, because the headphone amplifier is already built in. That lets you carry on playing on the road or late at night. There are no separate batteries to buy either: the rechargeable battery is built in and charges via USB-C. Two strap buttons let you fit a strap, while the smooth-running, closed tuning machines help you tune accurately. For travelling, a padded gig bag is included.
