General

Your first ukulele served you well, but after a few months of playing you start to notice what it lacks: body, warmth and a tone that keeps ringing. Much of that difference comes down to the top, and here it is made of solid cedar, a wood that responds warmly and openly to your touch. Underneath sits a body of laminated acacia. This is a tenor model, with a scale length of 43 cm, a nut width of 35 mm and a body depth of 5 cm, so you get more room: between the frets, between the strings and inside the sound box. Pleasant if your fingers are on the large side, and welcome once you have moved past your first three chords.

Staying in tune and finishing touches

Few things are as irritating as an instrument that starts drifting out of tune halfway through your first song. Cascha deals with that where the strings make contact: the nut and saddle are made of bone, while the precise open tuning machines hold the brown fluorocarbon strings neatly in place. The fretboard and bridge are rosewood, and the neck is okoume. Along the edge runs a five-layer mahogany binding with rope inlay, a detail that gives the uke a neat, well-groomed appearance. Two strap pins let you fit a ukulele strap. A padded bag and three plectrums are included as well, so you only need to unpack and play.

Bax Music Warranty This product comes with a 3-year warranty.
