The Kala Striped Ebony Soprano Ukulele (KA-EBY-S) is part of the Ebony range and immediately catches the eye with its deep brown body featuring reddish-brown stripes. The satin finish gives it a lovely natural look, whilst the light maple rosette and binding provide a stylish contrast. Thanks to its soprano size, this is a compact ukulele with a clear, direct response: ideal if you’re looking for a handy instrument for at home, on the go or on stage.

Wood selection and components

The top, back and sides are crafted from striped ebony, finished with maple binding. For a comfortable feel, the neck is made from mahogany and the fingerboard from rosewood. Furthermore, this ukulele features a Graph Tech NuBone® nut and saddle, and comes strung with Aquila Super Nylgut® strings as standard. A handy detail: there is one black strap button, so you can easily attach a strap.

Size and case compatibility

In terms of dimensions, this is a true soprano: a scale length of 13.5 inches and a total instrument length of 20.875 inches, with 12 frets. The body measures 9.3125 inches in length and is 2.375 inches deep, with a width ranging from 5.0625 inches (upper bout) to 6.8125 inches (lower bout). For transport, it’s worth noting that it fits into all Kala bags and cases designed for soprano ukuleles.
