General
The Korala PUG-40-BK is a crossover between a guitar and a ukulele. It has the same size as a ukulele, yet it has six strings instead of four. This mini guitar is made of polycarbonate and has a tuning that's a quarter above that of regular guitars: ADGCEA. It may be clear what the advantages of a guitarlele as opposed to a traditional ukulele are; a guitarlele allows you to play the chords like you're used to from a conventional guitar. This makes the guitarlele a perfect instrument for children, allowing to transfer what they've learned on this pint-size instrument to a full-size guitar.
Construction of the Korala PUG-40-BK
The body and neck of the Korala PUG-40 are made completely out of acoustically optimised polycarbonate. It is a strong, lightweight and weather-resistant material, which makes this guitarlele the perfect travel guitar. The polycarbonate was designed to provide optimal acoustics. The tone of this Korala guitarlele is definitely as good as that of traditional guitars with the same price. What's more, this cheerful instrument is available in several fresh, bright colours. Should the coloured versions be a bit too cheery for you, then you can always go for this tough-looking black version.

Mijn zoontje van bijna jaar had hem gehad van mij toen hij nog baby was maar hij vind hem echt heel leuk,ooit wel betere snaren op doen als hij wat groter is en echt gaat weten hoe het werkt en hij hangt ook nog stoer in zijn kamertje.

Het instrument ligt ten allen tijde in mijn auto, waardoor ik geregeld in mijn middagpauze wat muziek kan spelen. Een kennis van mij heeft het instrument ook vast gehad en heeft onmiddelijk beslist om er ook een te kopen.

Door de 5 laagste (dikste) snaren 1 snaar op te schuiven + een extra 'very high tension E' snaar te plaatsen, kan je dit instrument stemmen als een normale (grote) gitaar.

Voor de prijs is het een aardig ding. Verwacht geen hoogstaande klanken, maar dat is ook onmogelijk voor deze prijs. Het is een platic ukele met 6 snaren, waardoor het te spelen is als een gitaar (een hele kleine). Uiteraard zitten de frets dicht op elkaar, waardoor je je vingers preciezer op het fretboard moet zetten.
Het is een aardige klank op een makkelijk mee te nemen gitaartje, die behoorlijk robuust is

Petit instrument rigolo mais qui peut surprendre par sa sonorité, pas si jouet que ça. Au départ, une fois déballée, J'avoue avoir été septique sur l'instrument. Un jeu de cordes neuf plus tard, et une fois le temps de stabilité des cordes acquis (nylon), je me surprends à la considérer comme un accessoire intéressant. Mais attention à ne pas trop en demander, ça reste un gadget musical.
Par contre, pour les enfants c'est le joujou idéal pour commencer à apprendre à poser ses doigts et ressentir les premiers émois ;)
Pour conclure, au regard du rapport qualité/prix, cette guitarlélé convient parfaitement à l'usage musical familial tout en gardant un côté sérieux pour un son relativement correct pour l'objet.

zeer tevreden! guitarlele gekocht voor onze kleindochter van 5 jaar. mijn man is muzikant, dus het moest een écht instrument zijn. de guitarlele is van een degelijk materiaal gemaakt, wat nodig is voor een jong kind. de klank is goed, mijn man zou er wel degelijkere snaren op zetten. kleindochter heel blij, dus de grootouders ook.

Op zoek naar een leuke voordelige reisgitaar, kwam ik deze tegen! Een leuk gitaartje voor op vakantie. De klank is prima, zeker met een plectrum.
Ik had alleen hetzelfde probleem als Jan; De omwonden snaren waren volkomen geoxideerd en hadden zowat alle kleuren van de regenboog. Een telefoontje hierover naar BAX was voldoende om het probleem op te lossen: Ik kreeg direct een nieuw setje snaren! Complimenten voor de service!

Ik had al een plastic Korala ukulele van 25, dus ik wist wat ik ongeveer kon verwachten. en dat viel wederom niet tegen. Voor 35 Euro krijg je een handig reisgitaartje met een best aardige klank. De actie, af-fabriek, is prima. Nadeeltje is wellicht dat de frets dezelfde kleur hebben als de toets (zwart dus) en daardoor wat moeilijker te vinden zijn, vooral omdat de afstand tussen de frets, vergeleken met een full-size-gitaar, veel kleiner is. De snaren op deze guitalele waren ronduit slecht, alsof ze al jaren bespeeld waren. Maar na één telefoontje met BAX kreeg ik keurig een nieuw setje toegestuurd.
De stemming is gelijk aan mijn ukuleles, dus ADGCEA.
Kortom een prima reisgitaartje die een stootje mag/kan hebben.
