General

The Korala PUG-40-RD is a hybrid of a classical guitar and a ukulele. It is the same size as a ukulele, yet it has six strings instead of four. This mini guitar has a tuning that's a quarter above that of full-size guitars - ADGCEA - which is perfect for even the very youngest of guitarists. They can later apply the chords they've learned on this cheerful little instrument to playing larger - standard - guitars. Of course, the same goes for adult players. Furthermore, this instrument's size and rugged construction make it the perfect travel companion.

Construction of the Korala PUG-40-RD

The body and neck of the Korala PUG-40 are made completely out of acoustically optimised polycarbonate. Thanks to this material, the PUG-40 is exceptionally light, and it stays unaffected by changes in temperature that would typically cause an instrument to lose its tuning. The polycarbonate was designed to provide optimal acoustics. The tone of this Korala guitalele is definitely as good as that of traditional guitaleles with the same price. What's more, this cheerful instrument is available in several fresh, bright colours. This light-red version is a proper eye-catcher.

Hallo, ik ben Roy en heb deze gitaar gekocht voor de kleine van mijn zus die net 3 is geworden. Het zal het eerste jaar wel gewoon bling bling zijn maar ze vind het leuk. Toch had ik gehoopt dat ze er niets aan vond want die is zo leuk en heb hem goed gestemd gekregen met een verhoogde concertstemming. Goede speelbaarheid, klank en toonstabiliteit(hoewel íe nu wel vals zal staan hihi)

Wij vinden het jammer om te lezen dat u niet geheel tevreden was.

Voor de exacte afmetingen van de halsbreedte hebben wij contact opgenomen met de leverancier en tevens zelf de hals nagemeten. Bij de topkam heeft de hals inderdaad een breedte van 47 mm en deze loopt op tot een breedte van 56 mm bij de body. Dit is aangepast in de specificaties. Daarnaast is bij de rode exemplaren voor de duidelijkheid extra vermeld dat het om een licht rode kleur gaat.

Ook hebben wij hier een aantal guitarleles gecontroleerd en wij zijn zelf geen roestvorming tegengekomen. Het is dus geen structureel probleem bij de Korala guitarleles en het spijt ons dan ook dat het op uw exemplaar wel het geval was.

Ik had een rode PUG 40 besteld, de guitalele. En 'm helaas weer teruggestuurd.

Eerst de positieve punten: Hij is goedkoop, licht, netjes afgewerkt met een redelijk lage actie en het geluid is best redelijk voor een plastic instrument.

Echter.....de negatieve punten: op de site staat dat de halsbreedte 56mm is, dit blijkt echter maar 47 mm te zijn. Dat scheelt nogal! Daarnaast waren de snaren hier en daar al wat roestig. En als laatste de mooie felle kleur rood van de site blijkt in werkelijkheid een wat flauwe zachte kleur te zijn die sommigen wellicht rood noemen. Ik niet.

Kortom: met nieuwe snaren erop en ervan uitgaande dat je een smallere hals krijgt dat beschreven is het best een aardig instrument voor erbij of voor vakantie. Misschien bestel ik nog wel eens de zwarte, die schijnt namelijk echt zwart te zijn.

Eindoordeel 3 sterren van de vijf, net aan voldoende.
