The Kala Spruce Mahogany Soprano Ukulele is made of the same high-quality tonewood that’s used on high-end models and will last you for years. Both the neck and body are made of mahogany, giving this soprano ukulele a warm sound, while the spruce top produces its renowned sparkling sound. The ukulele: extremely versatile

In Hawaii, the ukulele is affectionately known as 'jumping flea'! This is not a particularly flattering name for an instrument that is such fun to play. In the 19th century, Portuguese migrants from Madeira brought the machete (a small, guitar-like instrument) to Hawaii. On this tropical island, the machete evolved into the ukulele. In the 20th century, the instrument conquered the United States and its popularity increased. Today the ukulele is used by solo performers, bands and even orchestras.
