Ziricote wood is very popular in high-end acoustic instruments for its unique, distinct sound and look. Its appearance can be compared to Brazilian rosewood, but with a very beautiful, distinct grain. In terms of sound, it’s somewhere between rosewood and ebony; bright, sparkling, warm and full with pleasant overtones. This Kala Ziricote offers the best of both worlds: great sound as well as a bit of eye candy!

Types of wood and hardware

A sturdy mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard complement the look of this Kala Tenor Ukulele’s ziricote body. The 18 frets are made of nickel silver and the string nut and bridge saddle are both made of durable Graphtech Nubone XB. To complete the package, this luxurious tenor ukulele comes with a sturdy hard case. In short, the Kala Ziricote Concert Ukulele has it all!

Kala Brand Music Company

Kala Brand Music Company was founded by Mike Upton in the USA in 2005 and produces hand-made ukuleles, U-basses and guitars in Petaluma, California. Just like they did with their ukulele basses in 2007, Kala has made a name for themselves with their signature Elite series, which has globally put the brand on the map. Kala invested a lot in creating instruments that have a distinct sound as well as comfortable playability. Since then, the company has been providing ukulele players all around the world with quality instruments at a great price.
