General
By popular request, Yamaha has brought out three new colours of the GL1 Guitalele! Here, the beautiful red-brown colour named Persimmon Brown is featured. This instrument is exactly what it sounds like: an excellent combination of a ukulele and a classical guitar. The GL1-PB is only a 1/4 of the size of a classical guitar, making it an great choice for both children and travelling guitarists!
Characteristics of the Yamaha GL1-PB
The body of the Guitalele is made of meranti wood with a spruce top. Nato (similar to mahogany) is used to craft the neck of the Yamaha GL1-PB. With a width of 43 mm, the neck is just about as wide as a full-size classical guitar, which makes it especially easy for children to transition to a full-sized guitar later on. The fretboard is fashioned out of rosewood, as is the bridge. All of these woods work together to give the Guitalele a surprisingly deep, rich, and brilliant sound for such a little instrument.
Guitalele Tuning
The GL1-PB has six nylon strings tuned in ADGCEA, which is the standard ukulele tuning with the addition of the low A and D strings. This means you can easily play along with other guitarists, who can use standard tuning with a capo on the fifth fret. This also means that every guitarist can easily cross over to the Yamaha GL1-TBS Guitalele!

De Yamaha guitalele is een leuke sidekick in je collectie. Ideaal om mee te nemen, een warm geluid, en 6 snaren (waardoor het ook voller klinkt dan een ukelele). Recht uit de doos is er wel wat stemwerk aan de snaren en blijven ze wel nog een tijdje snel ontstemd, maar eens ´gerodeerd´ is dat gauw van de baan.

Prijs/kwaliteit is dit instrument meer dan zijn geld waard.
Verbazingwekkende sound uit zo'n kleine klankkast, goede afwerking wat we wel van Yamaha gewoon zijn.
Vergelijken met een 4/4 gitaar mag je echter niet doen, daarvoor is de bodysize echt wel te klein. Hals is relatief klein, jazzakkoorden zal je er bijvoorbeeld moeilijker op kunnen spelen.
Leuk om mee te nemen op reis, bij kampvuur,.....
Verbazingwekkende sound uit zo'n kleine klankkast, goede afwerking wat we wel van Yamaha gewoon zijn.

Heel fijn instrument!
Met de grootte van een bariton ukulele is het net groot genoeg en toch compact om mee op reis te nemen of gemakkelijk te vervoeren. De hals van de gitaar is comfortabel en vergelijkbaar met dat van een full size gitaar.
Geen klachten over de klank. Deze 'gitaar' klinkt heel vol in tegenstelling tot een ukulele of een goedkope gitaar.
Prijs/kwaliteit gezien bestaat er voor mij geen betere introductie tot de gitaar.
