Modern smartphone owners take for granted that they can record audio anywhere. Even though mobile technology is fast advancing, smartphones have not yet been fitted with microphones for high-quality music recordings. That's where this impressive Apogee MiC 96k microphone for iPad, iPhone and Mac comes in. It's the successor of the Apogee MiC and quite alike, but it features 96 kHz recording quality. Also unlike its predecessor is the accessory microphone adapter which allows you to fasten the 96k to a stand. A Lightning iOS cable and USB cable are also part of standard delivery (a 30-pin cable is separately available).
Qualities of the MiC 96k
Once the MiC 96k's connected to your iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone or Mac, recording may commence! Its timbre is based on renowned studio microphones from the past, and it's well suited to vocals, speech, guitar, piano, drums, and many other instruments besides! In actual fact, the MiC 96k is much more than just a microphone - it also features a preamp and a D/A converter. This is quite something for a device that's small enough to fit in your pocket!
Characteristics of the Microphone
The MiC 96k condenser microphone is protected by a durable metal housing and, although we advise that you only knock out your audience members metaphorically, it can take a few hits! Furthermore, it features a cardioid pickup pattern, and you needn't bother with batteries for power - an iPad, iPhone or Mac will provide more than enough for this 96k! Use the rotary knob to adjust the gain, and keep your eyes on the LED light on the housing to monitor the input level and device status.

Ik heb de Apogeen Mic 96k gekocht in combinatie met het radio statief, de usb verlengkabel, de adapter en het pop filter. Dat is een prima combinatie, voor als je (zoals ik) net aan de slag wil gaan met opnemen. Het werkt prima op zowel mijn MacPro als mijn iPad 2, beiden met Garageband.
Ik had in eerste instantie wel wat last van latency, toen ik de speakers als output kanaal gebruikte. Zet je de output via een hoofdtelefoon dan is de latency verdwenen. Dit is ook overigens de enig juiste configuratie als je vocals wil opnemen (tenzij je misschien een echo kamer wil simuleren ...)
De kwaliteit van de opname heb ik (nog) niet getest. Ik heb ook geen vergelijkingsmateriaal. Het signaal is best schoon te noemen.
Ik ben blij met mijn aankoop en met de snelle levering door Bax-shop en Post.nl.

De Apogee MiC 96K is simpel gezegd, beter/opvolger van de Apogee MiC.
PRODUCT
Apogee MiC 96K: Na veel reviews te hebben gezien op youtube, heb ik het besluit genomen om hem aan te schaffen. Geen moment spijt gehad. Je plugt hem in je iPhone of ander Apple apparaat en je kunt direct opnemen. Ik vind het erg prettig om te weten dat overal waar je bent, je direct iets op kunt nemen.
Je kunt de Gain makkelijk aanpassen. het LED-lampje geeft d.m.v. groen, oranje of rood aan of je goed zit met je Gain.
De kwaliteit van deze kleine microfoon is zowel uiterlijk als aan geluid echt super. Hij is zwaarder aan gewicht dan ik had verwacht, niet te zwaar maar blijk van een stevige, goede kwaliteit.
De accessoires die erbij geleverd worden zijn ook erg handig, een klein standaardje en een koppelstuk voor op een groter standaard. Daarnaast ook 3 kabels voor de wat oudere iPhones.
Twijfel je? Echt niet nodig, gewoon aanschaffen!
