IK Multimedia's iRig Mic HD 2 is the successor to the popular iRig Mic HD. The HD 2 is an impressive all-rounder that's fully compatible with the iPhone 7 and has a maximum sample of rate of 96kHz! With studio-quality A/D converters on board you can make top-quality recordings using your iOS device no matter where you are. The HD 2 is even equipped with a headphone socket and a dedicated volume control so that you can monitor the audio signal on the spot.

Versatile and Complete

The HD 2 microphone is perfect for things like podcasting, home studio recording, guitar amplification, speech, vocals and more. It comes with a number of accessories including a storage pouch, a screw thread adapter, a table top stand, a microphone clip, a Lightning cable and a USB cable. You can find a number of free apps in the AppStore and MicPack for Vocalive, Pro Bundle for iRig Recorder and Mic Rig are all included with the HD 2 as is Ableton Live 9 Lite, T-RackS Classic and Mic Room. All in all, it's fair to say that the iRig Mic HD 2 is the ultimate mobile recording solution for iOS devices and Mac users and what's more, it's affordable too.

Fijne mike waar ik nu 1 jaar mobiele podcasts mee opneem. Enige probleem begint nu wel te worden dat de USB-C steeds uit mijn telefoonaansluiting valt (lang leve Gaffer!), maar ik begin 'm nu ook te knijpen voor de USB mini-A in de microfoon die steeds losser gaat zitten. Laat die USB mini-A nu gewoon standaard in de mike zitten (met Gaffer). Opname kwaliteit is erg goed, handgevoeligheid ook prima, draaiknopjes zijn van prima kwaliteit en doen het nog steeds zonder kraak. Al met al dik tevreden los van de USB-C die er soms tijdens opnames uitvalt. Ook een beetje jammer, maar niet onoverkomelijk, is dat je geen live-monitoring hebt op je koptelefoon, dus je kan niet meeluisteren terwijl je opneemt. Beetje onhandig in de heat of een interview en je hebt niet in de gaten dat je USB-c uit je telefoon is gedonderd.

Prima microfoon, goede opname kwaliteit. Ik wilde de microfoon echter gebruiken om live radioverslag te doen bij voetbalwedstrijden. Helaas werkt de microfoon niet in combinatie met een telefoonverbinding, waardoor het voor mij een waardeloos apparaat is.

De microfoon voelt degelijk aan. De draaiknoppen om de volumes te regelen voelen wat minder solide, maar werken vooralsnog prima. De microfoon werkt simpel. Kabel in de microfoon en in de iPhone en opnemen maar. Had wel wat moeite om de kabel in de microfoon te krijgen. Ging niet heel soepel. Opname via de standaard camera app in iOS verliep meteen goed. Handig dat de microfoon is voorzien van een statuslampje dat op basis van kleur ook volumelevel laat zien.
