The Shure MV88 USB-C is a stereo USB microphone for attaching to your phone. You see the size, and then you immediately understand that your phone's built-in microphone will lose out. Not even because it's Shure (one of the big brands in the microphone world), but simply because of its size. A larger diaphragm is simply more accurate. And then it's a condenser too, so again, that bit of extra studio quality!
Who is this MV88 for? Well, 't will go without saying that mobility is the decisive factor. If you're a reporter out on the streets interviewing people, you really don't need much more than this MV88 (with the included pop cap), and your iOS/Android phone. You also really don't need to be a hot-shot journalist - they'll come up with their own a team of techies anyway - but rather grassroots journalists are booming, with their YouTube channels. That group is a perfect target group for this plug-in microphone. And of course, if you're just out and about and want to record some ambient sounds with your phone, it's always handy to have an MV88 in your pocket.
