If you're a seasoned saxophonist or you're familiar with the fingering then you'll immediately get to grips with this highly unique instrument. The Roland AE-05 Aerophone GO is pre-loaded with 11 voices, giving you access to four different saxophones as well as that of a violin, flute and clarinet and by using the free Aerophone GO Plus app (for iOS or Android), more than 50 voicings are available to be played with. A second app, Aerophone GO Ensemble allows up to seven AE-05 players to play together in an ensemble and, by pairing the Aerophone with your phone via Bluetooth, you can listen to your favourite tracks while playing along.
The Aerophone GO: Fast, Easy and Trusted Playing Feel
Transpose buttons are placed in easy reach along the body of this fully digital wind instrument and, since the included mouthpiece is designed to provide all the authentic feel and response of a reed mouthpiece, no adjustments need be made to your blowing technique while a special Roland-developed breath sensor reacts to tonal and vibrato effects. The AE-05 comes with integrated speakers and volume control as well as a headphone output for silent practice and comes complete with a form-fitting soft case.

I got a discount on B stock. I would say at full price this would have lost a star rating. The sounds are rather basic but playable for practice. I use it as a midi controller on IPad with sample tank or rigged up to a Roland integra so don’t need the more expensive aerophone. The bite control is very good for pitch bend and octave shift keys at back easy to use. Expression key is fiddly near the thumb for aftertouch. Ease of use is only slightly let down by the app. Custom fingering took a while to sink in. Great fun at the price. Would be ideal for kids. I am using it semipro as a midi device. Pity the breath aspect isn’t too expressive although it does detect liter breathing. Happy at the price.

Bestelling na 4 dagen (ipv beloofde 1 dag) in huis. Service van bax is niet slecht. Eerlijke verkoop. Het product (b stock) is proper opnieuw weggeborgen. Komt in een veel te grote doos.
De aerophone zelf nog wat aan het uitzoeken. De on-board geluiden vallen wat tegen. Meer geluiden op de app, maar dan moet je Bluetooth verbinden en heb je delay of moet je met kabel verbinden, maar dan verbruik je batterij. Die geluiden zijn ook niet super.
De aerophone heeft wat weg van een veredelde melodica. Staccato spelen zal oefening vergen, ik kan denk ik sneller spelen op de akoestische sax. Voor legato is er geen probleem. De knoppen zijn binair en bijgevolg krijg je bij het niet simultaan sluiten van alle nodige kleppen meerdere tonen te horen.
De tas ziet er degelijk uit, ik mis een vakje voor de bijgeleverde kabels.
Je kan met muziek meespelen, enkel via de app, want het geluid gaat via de app en niet door de aerophone. Dat maakt het wat omslachtig. (ik denk dat de 10 dat wel doet).

Kijk ook eens in Youtube naar de tutorials van Alistair Parnell die de vele mogelijkheden van dit instrument zeer duidelijk toont. Er bestaat ook een gratis App onder de naam van Roland Aerophone Go PLUS waarmee je b.v. 50 andere sounds en nog veel meer kunt krijgen. Zoek hem met Google. Daar is uitgebreide Nederlandse informatie van Roland Nederland.
Ter info: ik heb destijds zelf de AE 10 (gekocht bij Bax) maar ik neem de GO erbij vanwege zijn handzaamheid en zijn Bluetooth en gemakkelijk transponeren.. Voor wie meer wil weten: Alistair heeft ook veel tutorials over de 10 en demonstreert de verschillen met de GO.

Heb de Aerophone Go sinds een aantal dagen binnen. Qua vingerzetting staan de vingers wat dichter op elkaar, maar niet storend.
Ideaal om te oefenen zonder te storen, met regelbaar volume en hoofdtelefoonaansluiting.
Qua blazen kun je ook de sterkte inregelen, maar persoonlijk oefen ik dat liever overdag op mijn echte saxofoon.
Tevens is de switch tussen alt en tenor toonzetting binnen een seconde gedaan, met de betreffende knop.

Ik heb de Aerophone nu een week en gebruik hem naast mijn Alt saxofoon in de trein of later op de avond wanneer het niet meer verantwoord is om op mijn sax te oefenen. Het geluid van de Go valt mij zwaar tegen, het doet kinderlijk aan zelfs met koptelefoon. Verder maken de knoppen een rammelend gebruik bij het bedienen .. al met al vind ik het te veel geld voor wat je krijgt.
Wat me wel aanspreekt is dat het een mobiel apparaat is en zich goed leent om mee te nemen in de trein of op vakantie.
