General
Shure's lucky number is 58. Everyone knows their famous SM58 microphone, but they have another lucky charm: the BETA 58A, out of the high-quality BETA series! This dynamic vocal microphone continues where the SM58 stops. It has a wider frequency, for instance. This frequency range is optimised for speech, but in a different way than the SM58. The BETA 58A sounds a little warmer than the SM58. Moreover, the BETA 58A is more effective in countering feedback, the super-cardioid pickup pattern ensures a narrow area in which sound is picked up. Disturbing sounds in the background (like handling and wind noise) are countered as much as possible.
H5 band
By buying this set, you are getting your hands on a golden combination. It contains an SLX 2 with BETA 58A capsule, as well as an SLX 4 receiver. The SLX 4 receiver selects the best frequency, to which it attunes itself and the SLX 2 transmitter via the press of a button, so that you can install the set with a few buttons. The rest is all done automatically. Please note: this version operates on frequency band H5, which is especially well suited for use in Belgium.
