While you can easily produce high-quality videos using nothing but an iPhone or iPad, the sound can leave a lot to be desired. The iOS compatible Saramonic Blink500-B3 wireless microphone not only raises the level of audio quality, but offers the maximum flexibility provided by a transmitter with a built-in omnidirectional microphone, and a lavalier microphone that can simply be plugged into the transmitter via mini-jack, and discreetly clipped onto clothing. The pocket-sized RXDi receiver is slotted directly into the Lighting port of your iPhone or iPad and couples wirelessly with the transmitter, and since this is a two channel receiver, the setup can always be expanded with a second transmitter.

Bij gebruik van de set valt het volgende op:
• Microfoongain zou 6 dB luider kunnen dan de huidige maximale instelling.
• Qua ontwerp is er met de ontvanger nog een behoorlijke vooruitgang te boeken:
- Het is niet goed mogelijk om de kwaliteit van het geluid te beoordelen tijdens de opname, wegens ontbreken van een hoofdtelefoonuitgang op de ontvanger. Het zou goed zijn om hierin te voorzien.
- De iOS aansluiting (lightning) wordt door de ontvanger in beslag genomen, De telefoon kan dan niet aangesloten worden op een voeding. Het zou goed zijn om de ontvanger te voorzien van een 'doorvoer'- voedingsingang.
