In the tasteful form of the J-200 Studio Bass, Epiphone reintroduce the El Capitan. This electro-acoustic bass packs the full sound of a 'King of the Flattops'-style body as well as the perks of a relatively short 30.5-inch scale length. In other words, notes are easier to reach and fret all across the board, while the strings have a suppler feel. Also, to treat your fret hand to maximum comfort, Epiphone have given this classic acoustic bass a medium-C neck profile.
The El Capitan J-200 Studio Bass: Rich Full-Range Bass Sound
Backed up by a mahogany back and sides, the solid spruce top lays down a nicely sustained, full-range foundation sound that's enriched by the sweet, woody character of a set-in mahogany neck. As soon as you plug the bass into an amp, this sound is picked up and boosted by a built-in Fishman Sonicore pickup and Sonitone Soundhole preamp, and can be effortlessly tweaked using the fitted volume and tone controls. Ready to play gigs, the El Capitan J-200 Studio Bass comes stylishly finished with pearloid crown inlays and a Moustache bass bridge.
