If you want your acoustic guitar strings to produce clarity for longer, these Elixir coated 11027 set of strings for steel-string acoustic guitars come with an ultra-thin coating that protects the strings against corrosion and dirt. This extends both the clarity and life-span of your strings by up to 5 times. The Elixir 11027 strings have the same feel as standard, uncoated strings and deliver the same punch. These strings are made of steel, wound with 80/20 bronze to pull warm and sparkling sound out of your guitar.

Why use Elixir Coated Strings?

Since your skin naturally produces corrosive acids this, combined with general air moisture, gradually corrodes your strings and dulls your tone. Dirt also accumulates between the windings and impedes the string’s vibration and subsequently makes its frequencies lose their intensity; making the string sound ‘dead’. These Elixir strings have a thin protective coating of fluoropolymer, which creates a barrier between the string and its surroundings, without making it feel any different when you're playing.
