General
The Elixir 11077 Nanoweb is a set of six coated strings for your acoustic steel-string guitar. This Light - Medium string set has extra thick wound strings for tighter, fuller bass tones. The strings are made of 80/20 bronze, which really brings out the warm sound of your guitar. The Elixir 11077 strings have a unique Nanoweb coating which protects them from rust and dirt. As a result, your strings will last longer and they will retain their clarity for up to 5 times longer than uncoated strings!
Why choose Elixir coated strings?
Due to the acid from your fingers and the humidity in the air, steel strings are subject to corrosion. String quality is further damaged by oil, sweat and dead skin cells that accumulate between coils, inhibiting their ability to vibrate, which make the strings sound a bit ‘dead’. These Elixir strings have a thin protective fluoropolymer coating which provides a barrier between string and environment without affecting the feel of the string. The result is a string set with a long life that retains its clear sound for an extensive period of time. Excellentes cordes à mon goût, très bonne longévité, elles sonnent longtemps sans se dégrader.
Il faut quelques heures d'utilisation pour qu'elles donnent le meilleur, comme beaucoup d'autres, elles sont un peu "raides" à l'oreille, un peu trop brillantes quand elles viennent d'être montées.
Je les utilise en médium (13/56) sur une Martin HD 28 et, pour moi, c'est parfait, basses, rondeur, précision, tout est là.
J'ai monté ce jeu, médium light (donc 12/56), sur ma Larson Stetson 1 F Vintage 1900, en remplacement du jeu d'origine, même marque même modèle mais light (12/53) pour essayer d'obtenir un peu plus de basses, mais dans ce but c'est raté, un très léger plus de projection mais c'est tout, ce qui n'était pas nécessaire parce que cet instrument "envoyait" déjà largement.
Je vais quand même attendre un peu qu'elles "mûrissent" pour asseoir mon jugement et repasser en light.
Attention : même la légère différence de tirant uniquement sur les 3 cordes les plus graves entre un jeu light et un médium light oblige à un petit coup de clé sur le trussrod si vous désirez conserver la même action (et si comme moi vous êtes maniaque :-) .

Prima snaar en klinken heel mooi op mijn Taylor en gaat nog eens heel lang mee ook. Heb er ook wel eens een setje D'Addario geprobeerd maar die klinken toch heel anders, maar weer vlug terug naar de Elixir.
