The Guild M-50 Standard Antique Burst is an acoustic western guitar from Guild USA's new Standard Series, designed specifically for musicians looking for a combination of vintage looks, high-quality craftsmanship and a versatile sound. With its solid woods and sophisticated construction, this guitar offers a rich and clear sound, ideal for fingerstyle, singer-songwriting and gigging. The top is made of solid spruce, providing a sparkling response and clear midrange. The rest of the body is solid rosewood, giving the guitar a warmer tone with full basses and defined trebles. The bracing under the top is "forward-shifted scalloped", further improving resonance and dynamics, while maintaining balance and control. Guild has opted for a concert bodyshape, slightly more compact than dreadnought, making the guitar feel more comfortable but still delivering sufficient volume. The mahogany neck has a C profile and a nut width of 44.5 mm, a combination that offers a pleasant spread for both chords and fingerstyle playing.

Vintage finish, modern versatility

The M-50 features Guild Deluxe Vintage open-gear tuning machines with butterbean knobs, which not only provide a classic look but are also very stable in terms of tuning. The bridge and bridge nut are rosewood and the bone saddle is offset (as is the nut), which helps with intonation and sustain. The binding around the body is white, combined with a tortoiseshell pickguard, and the Guild Peak logo in mother-of-pearl on the headstock gives extra visual recognition.
