Are you looking for a serious study violin for yourself, your son or your daughter? Then this Yamaha V5SC is definitely worth considering. After all, apart from the violin, you also get a bow, rosin and a lightweight case with it. Yamaha is a familiar name and that shows in the attention put into this violin. The design is in fact inspired by Stradivari and each one is hand-finished. As a beginner, this allows you to fully trust the quality of the instrument and make a good start on your musical development. Even as a parent, it gives peace of mind to know that your child will not struggle with a sub-par instrument.
Like most violins, the Yamaha V5SC is built from a spruce top with maple sides and back. As a result, you can count on a clear basic sound with excellent projection and dynamics. Where Yamaha differentiates itself from the competition is the specially developed oil varnish used to give the violin a stylish sheen. In fact, this thin varnish layer contributes to fast response and clear articulation.
This Yamaha V5SC is basically the same as the V5SA, but with one important difference. Namely, this model features the Wittner "Ultra" tailpiece with four fine tuners. The tailpiece affects sound transmission and tuning consistency. As you might expect from a violin in this price range, the tuning keys and chinrest are made of ebony. The fingerboard is also ebony, so you can count on a smooth playing experience. The Yamaha V5CA comes with D'Addario Prelude strings as standard.
