DB Technologies Opera 515 DX active speaker

The Opera 515 DX belongs to the Opera DX line by dB Technologies. For more than a decade now, the Opera Series has been a success story, and the DX 500 series presents a new chapter. With the 515 DX, dB Technologies has done it again, offering a product with excellent quality and a good price. The 515 DX offers outstanding audio quality with its 15-inch woofer and 1-inch driver. For an even bigger sound experience you could add the Sub 18D by dB Technologies to the mix.

The technology

Along with a 15-inch woofer and a 1-inch driver, the Opera 515 DX also features a 400W Digipro G2 digital amplifier. The dispersion of the 512 DX amounts to 80/65 x 60 degrees, and comes out of an asymmetrical CD horn. In this way, the treble is broadly projected at short distance, but can still travel quite far. The frequency response ranges from 52 to 20,000 Hz at -10 dB, and the maximum sound pressure that comes out of the 515 DX is 126 dB (SPL). Finally, the 515 DX has both an XLR and a 6.3mm jack signal input and output.

External features of the Opera 515 DX

This black speaker is made of polypropylene, which is less susceptible to scratches, so the Opera 515 DX can stay looking neat for a long time. Additionally, the polypropylene also helps to keep the speaker lightweight - only 37 lbs, to be precise. The 515 DX can also be easily mounted on a stand, thanks to the 35mm stand adapter.
