The Electro Voice ELX 112P is a 12-inch two-way speaker from the Live-X series, developed by EV to offer an affordable alternative for stage use. This speaker is fashioned from 15mm-thick plywood, which keeps it lightweight and offers a natural response so the ELX 112P produces a warm, strong sound. Furthermore, the construction features a metal grille and handles for protection of internal components and ease of transport. Moreover, you'll find a back-lit EV logo on the front, though you have the option of turning the lighting off, which is convenient for locations such as theatres that require discrete sound equipment. The entire Live-X series has been developed for musicians, and as such produces an good, musical sound.
This speaker is equipped with a 1,000W digital amplifier that is powerful enough to create a metaphorical landslide. On the back, you'll find a clip LED, though it will seldom have a need to turn on. Furthermore, the ELX 112 covers a broad spectrum of applications. Thanks to its 12-inch woofer, it has the capacity to produce a powerful, tight bass, and as such can serve perfectly as main speakers for DJs, small bands and entertainers. If you're planning on playing larger stages with larger audiences, then you can add the ELX 118P subwoofer to the mix. This combination is a match made in heaven, and offers an excellent extension of your bass tones.
The cabinet of the ELX 112P features a slanted side so it can be used as a stage monitor. Should you wish to use it as a main speaker, you can easily mount this professional speaker on a stand or distance rod. The different connection options on the rear of the ELX 112P ensure that you can use this speaker in a variety of ways. You also have the option of connecting an MP3 player and a microphone for more intimate performances. With the separate volume controls you have the ability to make your own mix with the two inputs, so an external mixing console is not necessary. Enjoy the option of combining multiple speakers from the Live-X series for a variety of stereo and mono setups.
