General

The EKX-12P is an active two-way speaker equipped with a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier and a first-class QuickSmartDSP. The amp produces up to 132 dB SPL via high-sensitivity transducers that were developed in-house by Electro Voice. Furthermore, on the rear panel of the speaker, you’ll find EV’s patented single-knob user interface along with a convenient LCD screen for navigating the menu. The EKX-12P is equipped with a ventilator with variable speeds and is powered by internal sensors to ensure that the unit performs optimally regardless of the environment.

Design

The speaker housing is constructed of lightweight, 15 mm-thick plywood that's finished with an EV coating. You'll find eight M10 mounting points and two rugged metal handles on this speaker and there's a stand flange on the bottom so that the EKX-12P can be used as a satellite.

Positioning

The EKX series is the latest addition to Electro Voice's portable speaker range and as such, features speakers that blending legendary EV audio quality with the reliability of the latest technology. All of this is combined in a single, compact housing to make a speaker suited for the widest range of applications possible. From DJing, to amplifying live bands, to use in fixed installations, the EKX series is an endlessly reliable middle child - older than the ZLX and ELX series and younger than the ETX series.
