The Live-X series by Electro Voice has been specially designed for musicians for use during live performances. This ELX 115P is a two-way 15-inch active speaker with superb musicality. It's been kept conveniently lightweight, and despite the powerful 1,000W amplifier it weighs in at only 22 kg, which is great for musicians who already have enough to carry. Moreover, the Electro Voice speakers from this series all feature wooden cabinets and robust metal grilles. Check out the optional cover for protecting the ELX 115P against cosmetic damage during transport.

EV ELX115P: Usability

Because the ELX 115P is equipped with a 15-inch woofer, it's very well suited for use as an FOH speaker for bands and DJs, and it can also be used as a stage monitor. This active speaker is equipped with a number of different connection possibilities. You'll find two inputs on the rear panel. Input 1 has a combination XLR/jack input and a stereo RCA input, while input 2 has just the combination XLR/jack input. Both inputs have their own volume control so you can easily set everything up without needing a mixer. Finally, you can also use the rear panel to make your own mixes, such as mixing a microphone and an MP3 player, for example.

Expansion Options

All of the speakers from the Live-X series were designed to be combined with one another. That means you can easily put together a variety of mono and stereo setups with or without subwoofers. If you're a singer-songwriter who plays in cafes with up to about a hundred listeners, then you can provide ample sound with two ELX 115P speakers on stands. If you're a DJ who spins at parties of up to 150 people, then an ELX 118P subwoofer makes a perfect addition to the setup. If you spin at larger parties or if you play with a complete band, then a configuration with two ELX 115Ps and two ELX 118P subwoofers is ideal. All of the speakers are easy to set up and connect to one another, thanks to the variety of inputs and line outputs available on each model.

Electro-Voice ELX-115P 15" Active Speaker

Excellent standard of speakers...was a bit worried when I purchased them that due to the wooden casing that they would be heavy but actually they are not that bad at all with the bonus of a handle on each side. Quality of sound is very good it's crisp clear and precise with added depth. You can also pair these up with subs and there is a switch on the back which allows you to balance the sound out with subs. The only thing against them is that in certain venues they can rumble on the base even with the base turned off on the desk and there is no tone control on the actual speaker if these speakers had the added bonus of tone control built in they would be immense that said they are extremely good speakers...and will blow the back walls out of any decent sized venue :)

Electro-Voice ELX-115P 15" Active Speaker

Een aantal jaren mogen draaien met deze speakers meestal voor bruiloften en verjaardagsfeesten tot ongeveer 100 man. Ik mis echter de punch in de speakers, daarom heb ik ze later aangevuld met 2x elx118p subs. Dat gaf zeker meer punch, zelfs voor buiten op een klein koningsdag evenement konden ze prima mee draaien. De toppen zijn betrouwbaar, ze hebben mij nooit in de steek gelaten. Ze zijn goed draagbaar, wel zou ik er zwaardere statieven onder zetten zoals de K&M, ik zelf had de innox modellen zoals die ook in de combo deal gezet worden, maar als het kan koop dan zwaardere.
Geluid is helder en laat zich zeker niet snel oversturen. Ik heb ze zelf nooit in de piek gehad.
