General
The Pioneer Pro Audio XPRS 12 is an active full-range speaker that really comes into its own as a PA speaker in a small-scale hall, or as a monitor for DJs and performers. The speaker has a slanted cabinet, so it can easily be placed at an angle on the floor. Rotate the HF driver ninety degrees, and you'll be able to enjoy optimal sound dispersion. Thanks to peak and thermal limiters and various other protective measures, even the most raucous DJs won't have to worry about blowing up this Pioneer speaker.
AFAST technology
AFAST technology was developed and patented by Pioneer, and basically comprises a specially designed, integrated acoustic tube that absorbs standing waves, which might otherwise dampen your mids and trebles. As a result, the total sound spectrum is clearly reproduced. Add a birch cabinet and high-grade components, and you've got a speaker that's well worth listening to.

In het WE heb ik alles geïnstalleerd (de Helix rechtstreeks aan de speaker en de zangmicro via het mengpaneeltje naar de speaker) en ik moet zeggen dat de klank van de Pioneer XPRS-12 Speaker echt wel fantastisch is, zeer gedefinieerd, helder en toch met de nodige body.
De Line-6 is ook fantastisch. Ik heb echter enkel nog maar enkele presets geprobeerd en al weet ik uit ervaring dat deze eigenlijk nogal magertjes ingesteld zijn, klinkt ook dat nu al FANTASTISCH...
De balans tussen gitaar en zang is prachtig te regelen.
Mijn gitaren op zich klinken met deze setup ook veel uitgebalanceerder dan op mijn vorige versterkers met een reeks effectpedalen eraan gekoppeld. Tevens blijft de klank van de gitaar zelf veel beter behouden dan op mijn buizenversterkers en ook de klankregeling op de gitaar zelf komt veel beter door bij de Line-6 Helix met Pioneer XPRS-12.
Het aanpassen van de presets bij de Line-6 Helix is vrij eenvoudig, en voor de leek vind je op YouTube filmpjes genoeg hieromtrent. Ook het volume is mooi regelbaar, zodat je echt niet superluid moet spelen om de gewenste klank te krijgen zoals bij sommige versterkers.
In zeer korte tijd heb ik eindelijk de klank gevonden waar ik al geruime tijd naar zoek, en dat in slechts enkele 'minuten'.
Dit belooft echt voor de toekomst, als ik mijn eigen klanken ga finetunen...
