Mackie's SRM1850 is a powerful subwoofer, able to hold its own as a PA speaker. It's equipped with a 1,600 Watt, Class-D amplifier, fitted with DSP processing to prevent overloading. Mackie is aware that a well-built cabinet is a necessity to produce great sound, which is why the SRM1850 has a sturdy housing made with 18mm-thick poplar and finished with a scratch-proof black lacquer. As a result, this sub's 18-inch woofer is able to create a full-sounding low end that extends down to 35 Hz so you can feel those bass tones in the pit of your stomach.

SRM1850: Front-Ported

Since this subwoofer is constructed with a front-mounted bass port, it packs the necessary punch, with none of the slow bass response you find on some rear-ported models. In order to create a balanced speaker system, it's important to set your crossovers to the right frequencies. Combine the SRM1850 with an SRM550 or SRM650, and it has its crossover set at 115 Hz. The crossover frequency can be adjusted between 60 and 120 Hz, so you're able to create the right speaker response for any situation.

Connectors and Applicability

The Mackie SRM1850 has two XLR connectors for stereo input, as well as four XLR outputs (2x2) that are capable of transmitting high-pass and full-range signals. On top, you'll find a socket for a distance rod - ideal if you want to mount an SRM550 or SRM650 full-range speaker for a complete PA setup.
