Legendary guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani (of Chickenfoot, among others) and legendary guitar amplifier maker Marshall have joined forces to create Satriani's ultimate guitar amplifier. The result is the JVM410HJS Joe Satriani Signature, a 4-channel full-tube top modelled after the award-winning JVM410H. However, this version is fully adjusted and voiced to meet the demands of the guitar-playing icon. Both overdrive channels (OD1 and OD2) gained a Mid Shift function for a more scooped sound and the reverb made way for a Noise Gate that you can set per channel. In other words, Marshall and Satriani perfected what was already a great amplifier.

Functions and sounds of the Marshall JVM410HJS

Despite its rather daunting look (28 knobs and 9 buttons), the Marshall JVM410HJS is surprisingly easy and intuitive to use. It features four channels - Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2 - that each have their individual controls for volume, bass, middle treble and gain. Additionally, each channel can be set to function in three modes: green, orange and red (red offering the most distortion and green the least). In the master section, there are Presence and Resonance controls, to adjust the high and low frequencies, as well as two switchable master volumes and the controls for the Noise Gate for the four channels.

Multi-purpose foot switch

Like the foot controller for the JVM, the one that comes with the JVM410HJS features two modes: Preset Store and Switch Store. Preset Store mode allows you to use each of the six buttons to store and hail the present button settings. In other words: you can hail the channel and the mode, the Master volume, FX loop, Mid Shift (only for OD1 or OD2) and the Noise Gate. Switch Store mode allows you to assign each of the six buttons to a button on the front panel. Add the fact that the amp and foot pedal are connected via a standard guitar cable and your options have no limit - especially with MIDI!
