General

Blackstar proudly introduces this St. James 100 Head. They themselves refer to this guitar head as a groundbreaking innovation in the world of tube amplifiers. This guitar amp is the result of years of development to bring you unrivalled combination of performance and lightweight design. As the lightest 100-watt tube amp top in the world at the time of its release, the St. James 100 brings together traditional build quality with cutting-edge technology. The resulting unique features clearly set this tube amp apart from most other models in its class.

St. James 100 Head: impressive flexibility on top of great versatility

Thus, this Blackstar amplifier head already offers you impressive flexibility through its dual configuration in terms of output stage tubes. Indeed, in the power amp you will encounter both 6L6 and EL34 tubes. Here you can choose between a 50-watt mode with 1 of the 2 types of tubes or deploy the full power of 100 watts with both these tube types. This is on top of an already great versatility of the 4 channels (clean, crunch, od1, od2) of this guitar amp. The tonal possibilities are further enhanced by cut selector with its 3 modes, which allows you to subtly adjust the higher frequencies of the tube sound. So you can simply vary from tight, contemporary to classic warm in terms of your guitar sounds.

Additional functionality for a wide range of playing scenarios

Besides these various options, the St. James 100 Head also offers you advanced connection possibilities and extra functionality for both live performances and in the studio. The built-in reactive load and impulse response-based CabRig technology ensure professional guitar sounds when connected directly to the direct outputs. A switchable effects loop with its powerful solo boost switchable via the included footswitch, offer you even more control over your sounds. So you can use this lightweight 100W guitar top from Blackstar in an awful lot of playing scenarios.
