General

Are you looking for a reliable active full-range speaker with a roadproof housing and a lot of spirit? Here you are: the DRX-12A by DAP Audio. It is equipped with a 12-inch woofer which ensures that this unit starts working from 50 Hz onwards. The bass reflex construction provides additional pressure in the low frequencies, for optimal speaker output in large spaces. The 1-inch horn driver has a dispersion of 50 x 50 degrees. A 15mm thick plywood housing with scratchproof black lacquer protects the interior of the speaker. Internal reinforcements attenuate unwanted resonance and make the DRX-12A even more durable.

DAP DRX-12A: properties

The amplifier of the DRX-12A is a bi-amp model, which means that the woofer and compression driver are separately powered and therefore aren't influenced by peaks in the overall signal. The 12-inch woofer is continuously provided with 200 watts and 30 watts are allocated for the high frequencies. With a maximum SPL of 122 dB, the sound pressure that is produced is more than enough for countless locations. A clip-indicator tells you when the sound is too loud. Ik heb 2 van deze speakers aangeschaft als topkastjes.
Als aanvulling op mijn set voldoet deze prima.
Mooi helder geluid dat niet vervormd als deze op hoog volume staat.

Heb 2 van deze speakers met 1 sub woofer...prima set voor dat geld en de geluidskwaliteit is redelijk goed...bij hogere volumes iets te schel maar dat valt in te stellen op mijn mengpaneel.
Wel worden de koellichamen erg warm en beginnen zelfs te stinken als je op 90% van het volume draait.
heb het volume terug moeten draaien om het stinken tegen te gaan..daarna de hele avond prima verder gedraaid.
Echter ga ik de koellichamen van ventilatoren voorzien.
2 a 3 ventilatoren per speaker van 60 x 60 mm x 20 mm.
Weet nog niet wat het resultaat zal zijn....dat geef ik later wel door in mijn review
