With the acclaimed Phase 90 and Phase 95 on their CV, MXR are known for their high-grade phasers, and this US-based stompbox builder now adds yet another mouth-watering option to the line-up. Based on an iconic vintage circuit, the little orange box that is the MXR M279 Deep Phase pedal emits a clear 'swoosh' framed by a scooped mid-range and shaped by an outstanding dynamic response. Warp, thicken, and power-up chords and pack melodies with expression with this multifaceted phaser, and since it's fully calibrated to handle lower frequencies, it's also compatible with the bass as well as guitar.

The MXR Deep Phase: Wide Ranging Sound

While loaded with a simple set of controls, the MXR Deep Phase can be manipulated to weave an immense array of sounds. Use the Speed pot to accelerate the effect or pull it right back; use the Feedback pot to adjust the intensity and dial in the peak height; and while this is a 4-stage phaser, the Mode II switch can be hit to double it, giving you a meaty 8-stage phaser and unleashing a completely different character and sonic texture. This detail is exactly what makes this humble orange stompbox so versatile, and since it is so small, it's easily slotted onto any pedalboard.
