General

Giving everything that the standard Surfliner does, but then more, the Guild Newark St. Collection Surfliner Deluxe piles on the vintage charm. While this is the deluxe edition, it still bears the same lightly offset body shape, but here you're getting the added edge of a matched headstock and the tone-bending potential of a solid Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Floating Vibrato GFV tailpiece complete with adjustable spring tension, so the response of the tremolo arm can be customised. To firm up the tuning stability and speed up string changes in one shot, Guild have even outfitted this more premium model with a set of locking machine heads.

The Newark St. Collection Surfliner Deluxe: Balanced Sound & Sweet Punch

If you're already familiar with the original, then the balanced sonic foundation and sweet punch shaped by the poplar body will come as no surprise, but with this six-string, the trebles are warmed up and rounded off by the addition of a mega-stable premium roasted male neck and an elegantly bound rosewood fretboard. Amplified, the HB-2 bridge humbucker and pack of two DeArmond Aerosonic single-coils team up with the single volume and tone pots and five-way switch to open up a mass of flexible, old-school-new-school tones.
