General

Devine's SPS-200 is a two-in-one shock-mount come pop-shield designed for home studios. The shock mount has a traditional setup, with an elastic cord, threaded through a metal frame so you can securely mount your microphone, isolating it from any contact vibrations, then attach the pop filter adn adjust the angle and distance from the mic as needed. Hard surfaces like a desk, or uncovered floors can send vibrations through a microphone stand, and these vibrations can end up on your recordings. This studio essential prevents most vibrations and ambient noise from being picked up by the microphone, ensuring cleaner and more dry sounding recordings, while the pop filter absorbs peaking, plosive vocal sounds like P, S, T, F, etc.

The SPS-200 in Operation

The SPS-200 is especially suited for use in home studios, where the space for peripherals is limited. A separate pop filter is usually attached to your stand with a none-too-practical goose-neck which can sometimes be awkward to position. The SPS-200 is a handy all-in-one system and the entire mount can be attached to a solid microphone stand or a studio arm or stand with counterweight. The mounting points of the shock mount are all fitted with a 5/8-inch screw thread that can be adapted for use with 3/8-inch screw threads.
