In the solid form of the Helix, Line 6 have actually managed to make a myth. By offering 62 amplifier simulations, 37 speaker cabinet simulations, 16 different virtual microphone set-ups, 104 of the highest grade effects going, and endless sound integration, routing, editing, and recording potential, this chunk of hardware sets the new-standard. When it comes to multi-effect processing, the Line 6 Helix might as well be the holy grail.

The Line 6 Helix: Cover Every Corner

The amp simulation range covers classic valve-compression and that familiar 'sag' effect of the power-attenuation of a selected amp - all thanks to the internal Line 6 double HX modelling engine. Of course, the Helix can simply serve as a stompbox-rammed pedalboard that offers 32 possible simultaneous effects per patch and customisable footswitch names for each patch, but the power of this unit really lies in its ability to send all of these possible sounds pretty much anywhere.

The Four Effects Loops: An Overview

The Helix packs four effects loops, alongside three expression pedal outputs, XLR, MIDI, external amp outputs, CV, S/PDIF, AES/EBU, and L6 Link ports. In terms of connections, the Helix comes close to limitless; completely simplifying rig integration while granting smooth access to the jaw-dropping effect sculpting power of this processor. The 8 in/8 out interface make re-amping just as simple, while the fitted colour screen guides every process with helpful clarity.
