The second edition of the El Capistan dTape Delay features a JFET input for enhanced dynamics and an improved response, plus a few other fresh perks like a Spring control that enables you to emulate the classic sound of spring reverb tanks, and is based on an entirely unique algorithm with a soft touch. This Strymon-made stompbox fully supports MIDI as well and can be hooked up to a DAW or an external MIDI controller for maximum control over each parameter, while the brand-new ARM DSP chip effortlessly handles multiple tasks at once so it can better anticipate any sonic nuances you shape.

Sculpt Your Own Sound Using Various Vintage Tape Echo Effects

Every last sound of the original El Capistan can be found improved and expanded upon in this fresh stompbox. Simply flip the 'Tape Head' switch to select the type of echo (fixed, multi or single) before using the Mode switch to pick a character. When you opt for 'multi', the mode switch is used to decide which two playback heads you want to fire up: A (1 and 2), B (2 and 3) or C (1 and 3). Going for the 'fixed' tape head setting gives you the pick of a short delay with a sixteenth note tap tempo (A), a medium delay with an eighth note tap tempo (B), or a long delay with a quarter note tap tempo (C). If you want, you can then mimic the moving parts of a real tape machine with the Wow & Flutter function for a chorus/flanger-like sound.

Perfect apparaat. Ik ben zelf een oude Shadow speler (nummers van The Shadows) en ik moet bekennen
dat het apparaat het echte geluid van The Shadows evenaart. Ook het instellen van het apparaat voor het
spelen van andere stijlen is zeer eenvoudig. Kort gezegd, ik ben er zeer tevreden over de Strymon El Capistan V2
Tape Delay.

Je n’ai pas trouvé de sonorités qui me plaisent avec El capistan. En général ,les effets de la marque strymon sont excellents . Question de goût .

Mooie geluiden, veelzijdig apparaat. Je kunt 300 (!) presets opslaan. Helaas kan dat niet op het apparaat zoals het uit de doos komt. Je hebt daar extra spullen voor nodig zoals een MIDI controller een een speciale (dure) type A MIDI kabel. Als je dat dan allemaal hebt dan heb je wel een super pedaal.

Sinds een korte tijd deze Strymon El Capistan v2 tape delay in gebruik en ik moet zeggen, Strymon maakt zijn naam meer dan waar! Supermooi geluid en heerlijk voor het maken van onder meer ambient muziek. Ik speel vaak live, waarbij ook nogal eens spontaan een verzoeknummer wordt gespeeld en dan kan ik snel de gewenste settings invoeren. Dat is dan ook de reden dat ik persoonlijk niet voor bijvoorbeeld de Strymon TimeLine heb gekozen, omdat je jezelf in mijn ervaring binnen live settings vaak niet door allerlei menu’s heen wil en kan laten worstelen. Daarbij hou ik van het overzicht en gemak dat deze El Capistan v2 biedt, het is een kwestie van je instrument inpluggen en binnen no-time ben je lekker onderweg met spelen! Aanrader!
