General

The Electro Voice ETX-15SP is an active subwoofer with a 15-inch woofer that comes in a black wooden construction and is protected by a metal grille. The subwoofer provides 1,800 watts of power with a maximum sound pressure of 135 dB and a frequency range of 28 to 180 Hz. As you can imagine, this is definitely enough power to be used by bands on stage, in combination with a good satellite speaker. Make use of the low-pass frequency adjustment to decide at which frequency you'd like the sub to cross over to the satellite speaker. The ETX-15SP is easy to transport and is great for use as a rental; the optional wheels make it all the easier. The ETX-15SP is an outstanding subwoofer with a lot of power and good sound!

ETX-15SP: flexible thanks to the DSP

You'll find an integrated DSP on the back of the Electro Voice ETX-15SP. It consists of multiple knobs and an LCD display that work together to make it easy for you to precisely adjust your subwoofer to work seamlessly with the satellite speaker. Two combination XLR jacks and volume control are there to assist with the process. Thanks to these options, you can adjust your system optimally for any and every environment. Additional features include two XLR link outputs and a 35mm stand flange that you can use to mount the satellite to the top of the sub. Finally, the entire unit rests on eight rubber feet which work to avoid any distortion that could be caused by direct sub-to-floor contact.

Ik gebruik deze subwoofer in combinatie met een Etx-12p topkast en ik moet zeggen dat deze sub een zeer mooie toevoeging is. Hij geeft mooie strakke bassen en clipt niet super snel. Hij weegt wel vrij veel voor een 15inch sub maar dat zal aan de kwaliteit liggen (mag ik hopen). Je moet dus wel met twee personen zijn om hem goed te kunnen dragen. De Dsp is wel echt een positief punt. Je kan de sub en de toppen zo instellen dat de toppen de lage frequenties automatisch doorsturen naar de sub zodat ze zelf minder belast worden. Conclusie: de subwoofer geeft strakke bassen maar is wel wat aan de zware kant. Hij is wel breed inzetbaar en werkt goed samen met EV toppen dus daarom krijgt hij van mij toch de vijf sterren.

Je merkt goed wanneer je zijn volumeknop opendraait. Strakke bas weergave. Voorbije weekend 7 uur gedraaid op 0dB. Geen problemen mee gehad. Ga wel een dubbele bas leggen per kant op de toppen te kunnen bij blijven.

Een goede Subbas kast met 'aanvaardbare' afmetingen.
Toch wel een zware kast volgens zijn afmetingen.
Er mocht toch wel wat meer power (punch) inzitten.
De woofer begint al te flippen bij -5db en gaat dan al in 'safety'.
Te vroeg als je het mij vraagt.
